Csilla with the piano

Who is your teacher?

Welcome to the Travel and Play Programme!
My name is Csilla. I have been teaching the piano since 2000. I graduated from the Franz Liszt Music Academy (Teachers College). In the course of my studies there I spent one year in Finland at the Sibelius Academy of Music. During that year I studied the clavichord, harpsichord, and organ with a focus on the interpretation of Early Music. I also formed two chamber groups.

Frequently Asked Questions:

You can start at any age. My oldest student was a 76 year old French lady whose childhood dream was to play the piano.
After finishing her career as a ceramic artist, she decided to start something new: to play the piano. She proved to be very talented.

It is very simple: just fill in the form “Applying for piano lessons” and I will contact you to discuss the details.

The lessons will be held regularly every week.
I suggest at least twice 30 minutes, or 45 or 60 minutes a week.
I always give some “homework”, some pieces to practise, and other materials for reading music or practising solfège, so you will not feel bored. 🙂

At the beginning I suggest at least 10 minutes a day. The more you practise, the more progress you will see. I think you do not need to spend hours at the beginning with your piano. Rather, what is important is: to understand what and how you practise, and to practise regularly.

Yes, of course. If you would like to come more often, please send me an email.
If you would like to come less often you can change your weekly lessons at the beginning of every semester, via email.

You can cancel a lesson via email (musicandjoy777@gmail.com) at least 24 hours beforehand.
You can cancel two lessons every semester free of charge. One semester consists of three months: September-November, December-February, and March-May.
If you cancel your lesson in time, 24 hours in advance,I will not charge for it.
If you join us later in the year, for example in October, in the first period (October-November) you can cancel one lesson free of charge, then from December-February (the following semester) it works in the same way: two lessons may be cancelled free of charge every semester.

Do not worry if your English is not very fluent. It is enough to know some basic vocabulary and understand simple sentences. Music is an international language, and I can explain what to do in a very simple way, and show you how to play with the help of the camera.
Naturally, during the lessons your vocabulary will improve. Do not worry, language need not be a barrier. If you feel that you need an extra English teacher, I can recommend a very experienced native English teacher.

Reading music is one of my favourite subjects. There are two ways we can do this, as there are two different ways of naming the notes:
do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do … or C D E F G A B C.
Do not be afraid if you have never seen a sheet of music before, as it is easier to understand than you think, and with some practice you will soon be able to read the notes fluently. If you feel that you need some extra solfège lessons, just let me know, and we can learn more about reading music and music theory in your piano lesson, or we can find another time to practise.
Playing the piano is the best exercise for your brain.

I have a large music library at my place. I also have many ideas. We can start with simple (folk or other) songs, after which we can play classical music (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Liszt, Debussy, Grieg, Bartók…) or other popular music. Of course if you have some special request, I am flexible, and you can play that.
I believe that having a sense of achievement is very important for everyone, so I prefer to start with simple pieces and then gradually we can play more challenging pieces.

I prefer acoustic pianos (this may be an upright piano). Acoustic pianos have a high sensitivity of touch and sound. Of course, if you already have an electric piano and you do not want to change it for an acoustic one, this can be a temporary sollution. If you would like to buy a good instrument, I can help you find one.

All you need is a good piano (this may be an upright piano), a reliable internet connection, a laptop computer, and an extra camera. I have a professional system that I can share with you.

Of course! I organize piano concerts twice a year: in January and June.
The concerts will be in Hungary or in Spain. You are warm welcome to Hungary (Budapest) here: premiumapts.hu I will let you know in time where the next concert will be, so you can arrange your journey. If you need help in arranging it, I can offer you a reliable travel agent in Hungary who will help you.
Our next concert will be in Budapest 22th June 2025
In the event of the world locking down again (as at the time of Covid), we can meet on Zoom, and listen to each other’ playing.

Yes, of course, if necessary. Just send an email to rozsakert@vivautazas.hu
